I am a historian of modern Europe in the world. I studied history and international affairs at the University of Mississippi, the Geneva Graduate Institute (IHEID) in Switzerland, Freie Universität Berlin in Germany, and Duke University. Outside of teaching and research, I like to rummage for records, cook with family and friends, and play ultimate frisbee. I am also involved in contemporary arts and editorial projects; my most recent work has been with the MexiCali Biennial. At home there's usually music on.
